My thing is Ski on the Freeride World Tour

To travel and compete as the only NZ male on the 2011 Freeride World Tour and become its youngest ever champion.

The nature of my goal

To the uniniated competitive freeride involves skiing fast down an untouched steep face littered with cliffs and basically doing well by making big jumps and making the most dangerous route down look the best, while throwing in flips and spins for a bonus.
To achieve my goal will require me to travel to to Chamonix/Verbier, Europe to begin on snow training In December. From there I will compete in 4 competitions over 6 weeks, from Russia to California and back to France and Switzerland.
In between competitions and travel I wil also have to make time to learn and progress my skiing as the sports level is increasing at a phenomenal rate. I will also be expected to take part in photoshoots for magazines and sponsors and take part in trips to film for straight to DVD ski movies.
To qualify for the Finals on the mythical Bec de Rosses In Verbier, Switzerland and have any shot of the overall Tour title I will need to be ranked top
8.
While there are many amazing skiers and so much can happen in 4 comps where anything can happen in this high risk sport I truly feel I can do it. With my background, passion and drive all I need is a little extra help.
