My thing is Performing Arts
Music is my life. I live for singing and dancing and I love to share this passion I have by teaching others.
The nature of my goal
Performing Arts and music have always played a huge part in my life. I have been dancing since the age of three and singing since I can remember.
Recently I travelled with a group from Lower Hutt to represent New Zealand in Los Angeles, America, at the International Dance Excellence Workshops. This trip gave me the opportunity to represent New Zealand in a 15 minute "Kiwiana" dance performance at Disneyland and also compete in the Performance Boards at The Long Beach Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles which I helped to choreograph.
While I was in Los Angeles I auditioned successfully for The Young Americans School of Performing Arts in California. I am the first woman from New Zealand to be invited to join the Young Americans.
My aim is to raise the funds neccessary to enable me to take up this two year training opportunity in teaching and performing singing, acting and dancing in August 2011. By taking this opportunity I will gain more knowledge and experience in the area of the Performing Arts while being exposed to a wider variety of talents in my field. I will grow and become more knowledgeable by teaching a huge variety of people (different ages, abilities and cultures), as I join the group in my second year to teach internationally on a World Tour.
It has always been my dream to make a career in the Performing Arts Industry. Taking this opportunity will be the first step in getting me there.
