Frequently Asked Questions

I want to apply for National/Study Start/Peoples Choice, how can I do this?

Sorry, applications are closed for 2011. But stay tuned – because AMP Scholarships will open again on April 1, 2012.

When are the National and Study Start winners announced?

You’ll be able to check out this year’s finalists at doyouthing.co.nz during November. Winners will be announced at our awards event on the November 24, and published online the next day.

You can also check out the People’s Choice and Regional winners here.

When will I find out if I am a finalist?

We’re letting all finalists know via phone and email. So good luck, and don’t forget to check your inbox!

Is there a place where AMP Scholarship winners can keep in touch with each other and update everyone on their progress?

We’re working hard to launch a news feed and blog for our winners by the end of the year. Please stay tuned.

During People’s Choice voting, can more than one person in a household vote?

To keep things fair, we keep People’s Choice voting to one vote per person. This may cause problems where people are sharing the same computer. So for 2012, we’ll be addressing this and making it easier to vote from the same computer.

Can I see applicants from previous years?

Answer: The ‘2011 Applicants’ page shows all this year’s submitted applicants. For previous winners, click here. Use the search box on the right to search by name, category or year.

If I applied for a Scholarship this year, can I apply again next year?

Answer: Yes. You can apply once per scholarship type each year. Eg. in 2012 you could apply for one National, one Regional, and one Study Start Scholarship. Click here if you’d like us to email you a reminder before applications open. Keep doing great things, and we’ll see you in 2012!

How can I remove my application from the website?

Answer: To have an application removed, email doyourthing@amp.co.nz with your request, name and details and we'll have our admin remove it from the site.
