AMP SCHOLARSHIP – TERMS AND CONDITIONS
How to enter
1. Applications are open from 1 April 2011 until 31 May 2011 Applications received by AMP Services (NZ) Limited (“AMP”) after 11.59pm on 31 May 2011 will not be considered.
2. Applications must be made on the online AMP Scholarship Application Form located at www.doyourthing.co.nz
3. Applicants must apply under the relevant categories otherwise they will not be considered.Applications will automatically be declined if not correctly completed and submitted.
4. Applicants are responsible for keeping a printed copy of their submitted application.
5. Submitted applications will be given a unique application number. Applicants must include the unique application number in any correspondence to or for AMP.
6. AMP will notify the AMP Scholarship finalists by telephone, email and/or SMS message on or before Monday 8 August 2011. All winners will be announced at AMP’s Scholarship awards evening on Thursday 24 November 2011
Eligibility
7. In order to be eligible for an AMP Scholarship, applicants must be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident.
8. Scholarships will only be awarded to individuals. Teams or groups are not eligible to apply.
9. Applicants under 18 years of age must have the consent of their parent(s) or legal guardian(s) to apply. The consenting parent(s) or legal guardian(s) must have read and discussed with the applicant these terms and conditions before the application can be submitted. A parent/guardian may be required to sign a separate parent/guardian form.
Personal statement
I acknowledge and agree that:
10. I am eligible to apply for an AMP Scholarship.
11. By submitting an application, AMP will be collecting my personal information (“Information”). AMP staff and their agents (who may work for third parties) may use this Information to assess my application for an AMP Scholarship.
12. By including the names and contact details of my referees and employers, I am submitting their personal information to AMP and have their consent to do so.
13. Failure to provide, or the supply of incorrect, Information may result in my application being declined.
14. I have the right to access and correct any Information before I submit my application if I believe that Information is incorrect.
15. I authorise AMP to display or use the Information stated in my application, and any photographs, recordings or images of me, on the AMP and AMP Scholarship websites, and for any promotional and marketing activities, media releases and publications as AMP deems appropriate.
16. If I am short-listed for an AMP Scholarship:
(a) I may be required to attend an interview with the AMP Scholarships Judging Panel (“Judging Panel”) as part of the assessment of my application.
(b) AMP or its agents may use my Information to conduct reference checks. I confirm that my nominated referees have consented to being contacted for such reference checks.
17. If I am awarded an AMP Scholarship:
(a) The amount to be granted to me, and the terms and conditions in relation to the timing and frequency of payment, will be determined by the Judging Panel in its sole discretion.
(b) I must enter into a contract with AMP to confirm my acceptance, and the terms and conditions, of the AMP Scholarship (“AMP Contract”).
(c) In accordance with my AMP Contract, any AMP Scholarship funds I receive will be used for the purpose(s) outlined in my application only.
18. The Judging Panel has complete discretion in judging applications for the AMP Scholarship. The Judging Panel’s decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
AMP Adviser Regional Scholarships
19. I authorise AMP to submit a copy of my application to the AMP Adviser elected by me as an application for any scholarship(s) offered by the AMP Adviser (“AMP Adviser Regional Scholarship”). Such AMP Adviser may use the Information stated in my application to assess my eligibility for any AMP Adviser Regional Scholarship in accordance with the Privacy Act 1993.
20. The AMP Adviser Regional Scholarships are:
(a) Run independently of the AMP Scholarship programme. Applying for an AMP Adviser Regional Scholarship will not affect my eligibility for an AMP Scholarship.
(b) Subject to their own terms and conditions, as set by the relevant AMP Adviser and located online at the relevant AMP Adviser’s website.
Privacy
21. AMP may keep both electronic and paper copies of all applications and store all Information securely. AMP may use this information in the future for any promotional/marketing purposes.
22. The AMP website is securely hosted and all Information is protected against unauthorised access.
